Privacy Policy
This policy explains how giftnamepicker.com handles information when you draw names, share invitations, browse our guides, or contact us.

Your draw stays in your browser
Names, exclusions, matches, party details, and optional recipient email addresses are processed in your browser. We do not send these form values to a website database, and there is no account system. Reloading or closing the organizer page clears its form and results.
Copying an invitation puts it on your device’s clipboard. Downloading the organizer copy creates a file on your device. You control those copies and any services you use to share or store them.
Invitation links and email drafts
Each personal invitation link contains one giver, one recipient, and the party details in the part of the address after the # symbol. That part is read in the browser and is not sent in the page request to our hosting service. Recipient email addresses are not included in invitation links.
The links are encoded, not encrypted or protected by a login. Anyone with a link can read or change its contents. Send each link only to its intended recipient and avoid putting sensitive information in your party details. Drawing again does not revoke an old link, and we cannot recover or revoke links you have shared.
If you open a Gmail or email app draft, the address and invitation text are passed to that provider. You review and send the message yourself. The website does not send emails automatically or track delivery.
Optional analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 only after you choose Accept analytics. Before you choose, and if you reject, our Google Analytics script does not load. Drawing names and using the guides do not require analytics.
With your permission, we measure visits to public pages, successful draws, successful invitation copies, and clicks to Amazon product listings. Our events include a fixed public page address and title; Amazon clicks also include the product ID. We exclude form values, names, email addresses, matches, invitation contents, URL query strings, and URL fragments. Referring addresses are reduced to the referring website’s origin.
Google may also process technical information such as browser and device details, approximate location derived from your connection, and cookie identifiers. Google signals and advertising personalization signals are disabled in our tag. Invitation pages do not load our analytics, even if you previously accepted.
Google Analytics uses first-party cookies, including _ga and _ga_*, to distinguish visits and sessions. We configure their lifetime to 180 days without automatically extending it on each visit. Your accept or reject choice is stored in your browser’s local storage for 180 days, after which we ask again. This preference storage is used to remember your choice, not to measure your activity.
Use Cookie settings in the footer to change your choice anytime. Rejecting stops future analytics events and removes this site’s analytics cookies. It does not undo information already sent to Google. You can also clear cookies and site storage in your browser; this removes your saved preference. We will ask again on your next visit.
For Google’s handling of information, including processing locations and retention, see Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Hosting and essential requests
Cloudflare hosts and delivers this website. When you visit, it processes network and request information, such as your IP address and browser request headers, to deliver and secure the site. These requests are separate from optional Google Analytics and are necessary to load the website. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy for its processing and retention practices.
Amazon and other external links
Our gift guide uses Amazon Associates links. These links contain a tracking tag that identifies our Associates account to Amazon so that qualifying purchases may earn us a commission. We do not include your draw details, names, or email addresses in these links, and we do not embed Amazon advertising pixels or tracking scripts on this website.
Clicking an Amazon link takes you to Amazon, which may use cookies and process information to attribute purchases and provide its services under the Amazon Privacy Notice. Our Cookie settings control Google Analytics on this site; they do not control Amazon’s cookies or remove the affiliate tag from a link. Other external services also operate under their own privacy policies.
Messages and your choices
If you contact us, we use the address, message, and attachments you provide to respond and investigate the issue. Please do not send private invitation links, full participant lists, or payment information. We keep correspondence only as needed to handle the request and any applicable legal obligations.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of personal information, or to raise a concern with your local privacy authority. For privacy questions or requests about information you have sent us, email [email protected]. We cannot retrieve draws or invitations that we do not hold.
Policy updates
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. If we introduce a new optional tracking purpose, we will ask for the relevant consent before enabling it.
